The Edo State Chapter of the Labour Party (LP) has congratulated Barr. Julius Abure, the National Chairman of the party, following his recent court victory. A Federal High Court in Benin, Edo State, dismissed a suit challenging Abure's legitimacy as the National Chairman.
Airen Igbinedion, the Edo State Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party, expressed enthusiasm about the court's decision. In a statement, Igbinedion highlighted that the verdict affirms the party's constitution, which stipulates that only a two-thirds majority vote from a national convention can remove the National Chairman.
Igbinedion also emphasized the importance of rallying around Abure to ensure success in the upcoming September 21 election. He encouraged party members and supporters to continue their efforts in campaigning and to focus on bringing effective governance to Edo State and Nigeria as a whole.
