Osun Governor Elevated to Asiwaju of Ede: Pledges Development Drive




In a grand ceremony on Monday, Senator Ademola Adeleke, Governor of Osun State, received the esteemed title of Asiwaju of Ede-land, promising a fervent pursuit of progress across the state.

Addressing the gathering at the Timi of Ede's palace, Governor Adeleke expressed his dedication to transforming villages into thriving towns and towns into bustling cities. He emphasized his commitment to serving the people diligently, listening to their concerns, and advocating for good governance.

"As Asiwaju, I pledge to lead the charge for development and growth in Ede-land and throughout Osun State. Together, we will illuminate the path of positive transformation, reaching every corner of our beloved state," he affirmed.

The occasion held significant familial significance for Governor Adeleke, as he acknowledged the legacy of service inherited from his late father, who held the position of Balogun of Edeland, and his late brother, the former Asiwaju of Edeland.

"In accepting this honor, I dedicate it to my family, especially to the memory of my late father, mother, brother, and sister, whose contributions to this town resonate deeply," he remarked.

Governor Adeleke extended gratitude to the Timi of Ede Land and the community for the bestowed honor and assured his commitment to upholding the responsibilities of his new role.

Witnessing the ceremony, dignitaries including the Ooni of Ife, Arole Oodua, and Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, lauded Governor Adeleke as a worthy recipient of the title, urging him to maintain his dedication to progress. Governors Seyi Makinde of Oyo and Babajide Sanwoolu of Lagos also commended his administrative prowess, offering prayers for his success in future endeavors.

In response, Oba Munirudeen Lawal, the town's monarch, hailed Governor Adeleke's significant contributions to community development, affirming his esteemed position among the town's residents.
