The Nigerian government is advancing in discussions concerning the potential reopening of the country’s land borders, as reported by Adewale Adeniyi, the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).
Adeniyi shared this update following the inauguration of the National Single Window Project, highlighting ongoing efforts to address the underlying issues that led to the border closure and to prevent similar occurrences in the future. He underscored his engagement with counterparts from Benin Republic and Niger Republic, emphasizing collaborative approaches to border management.
Commending President Bola Tinubu’s dedication to safeguarding Nigeria’s economy, particularly through initiatives like the National Single Window Project, Adeniyi expressed his involvement as a member of the Presidential Steering Committee. He elaborated on recent interactions with officials from Benin Republic and Niger Republic, indicating a concerted effort to resolve border-related concerns.
