The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has dismissed speculation about a potential suspension of Anambra State Governor Prof. Charles Soludo. Chief Edozie Njoku, the National Chairman of APGA, emphasized that maintaining internal peace and cohesion within the party is the top priority.
In a statement made to reporters in Lagos, Njoku refuted claims suggesting that Soludo might face suspension, describing such moves as potentially beneficial to opposition parties like the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He stressed that any action against Soludo would likely serve the interests of other political parties rather than APGA.
Njoku commended the media for their balanced reporting on the party’s internal issues, recognizing the efforts of journalists to present an accurate picture of the party’s situation. He expressed appreciation for the media's role in bringing clarity to the party's struggles.
Addressing the party’s challenges, Njoku highlighted the importance of reconciliation, inclusiveness, and forgiveness to achieve harmony among members. He acknowledged the difficulties faced during the internal conflicts but reaffirmed his commitment to resolving them and restoring loyalty and confidence within the party.
The National Working Committee (NWC) of APGA considered suggestions for Soludo’s suspension but ultimately did not reach a consensus on the matter. Njoku reiterated the party’s focus on unity and the collective goal of retaining Anambra State for APGA.
He also condemned attempts to create divisions between him and Governor Soludo, asserting that efforts should be directed towards strengthening the party and addressing internal issues collaboratively.
