In its World’s Top Fintech Companies 2024 report, CNBC has recognized seven African companies among the top 250 fintech firms globally. The report, produced in collaboration with market research firm Statista, evaluated over 2,000 eligible companies between March and May 2024, focusing on various key performance indicators (KPIs).
The companies were categorized into eight sectors: alternate finance, banking solutions, business process solutions, digital assets, financial planning, neobanking, payments, and wealth technology.
Among the top firms, five Nigerian companies made the list:
- Kuda was highlighted in the neobanking category.
- Palmpay, Flutterwave, and MTN Momo were recognized in the payments segment.
- Piggyvest was featured in the financial planning category.
