Vice President Shettima Represents Nigeria at U.S.-Africa Business Summit in Dallas

 



Vice President Kashim Shettima has embarked on a strategic visit to Dallas, Texas, where he will represent President Bola Tinubu at the 2024 U.S.-Africa Business Summit. Organized by the Corporate Council on Africa, the summit is scheduled to take place at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center and will feature prominent political and business leaders from Africa and the United States.

According to a statement released by Stanley Nkwocha, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications, Vice President Shettima's agenda is packed with high-level business talks, networking sessions, and key plenary discussions. He is set to engage in a Roundtable on African Infrastructure Investment and speak on a panel addressing the critical topic of Africa’s Energy Future.

Additionally, Vice President Shettima will participate in a discussion focused on transitioning from food insecurity to thriving agribusiness sectors, reflecting Nigeria’s priority in enhancing agricultural development and food sustainability.

Prominent African leaders, such as Presidents Joseph Boakai of Liberia, Lazarus Chakwera of Malawi, Joao Lourenço of Angola, Mokgweetsi Masisi of Botswana, and José Maria Neves of Cabo Verde, along with Lesotho’s Deputy Prime Minister Nthomeng Majara, are also expected to attend the summit.

During his stay, Vice President Shettima will also chair a session dedicated to the 'Invest in Nigeria' initiative, aiming to attract more foreign investments and bolster economic partnerships.

This high-profile participation underscores Nigeria's commitment to strengthening economic ties with the United States and showcasing the country's potential as a leading destination for global investments. The summit provides a pivotal platform for discussing strategic partnerships and investment opportunities that can propel economic growth and development across the African continent.
