Ondo Philanthropist Launches Free Education Program for Junior Secondary Students

In a groundbreaking move aimed at enhancing educational opportunities for young students in Ondo State, philanthropist Dekunle Okunrinboye has announced a new initiative providing free education to students in Junior Secondary School (JSS) classes 1 to 3. Spearheaded by The Remi Okunrinboye Family Foundation, this program is set to begin in September 2024 and will run for three years.

Dekunle Okunrinboye, the driving force behind this initiative, shared his enthusiasm about the program's potential to foster academic excellence and personal development among students. "Our foundation is committed to breaking down barriers to learning. We believe that by providing free education, we can create a pathway for academic and personal growth for the youth of Ondo State," he said.

The comprehensive scholarship will cover not just tuition fees but also student welfare, books, and uniforms. The initiative also includes extracurricular activities, academic support services, and career guidance programs to offer a holistic educational experience.

Educators and school administrators across Ondo State have expressed their gratitude and excitement about the initiative. "This is a transformative opportunity not only for the students but also for the entire educational landscape of our region," said one local school principal.

The selection process for scholarship recipients will be rigorous, combining academic merit and financial need with a demonstrated passion for learning. A special committee made up of education experts, community representatives, and members of the Okunrinboye Foundation will oversee the evaluation and selection of students.

This initiative by the Okunrinboye Family Foundation is expected to have a significant impact on the community by empowering young students and potentially setting a precedent for similar educational philanthropy in other regions
