The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a warning against the circulation of printed UTME results slips, asserting that the 2024 examination results are currently not available in any paper format. This announcement comes in response to some instances of individuals sharing printed result slips on social media.
Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB's spokesperson, clarified on Wednesday that this year’s results differ from previous procedures and are exclusively accessible through specific digital channels. According to Dr. Benjamin, “Candidates should text 'UTMERESULT' to 55019 or 66019 from the same mobile number used during registration to obtain their results. It’s crucial that the SIM used is not part of any data bundle to ensure successful retrieval of the results.”
This new method is a shift from last year's process, where results were available on JAMB's website. The board has taken measures to streamline the results-checking process and safeguard against fraud by removing results from their website and requiring SMS verification.
JAMB has strongly advised candidates to avoid cybercafes or any third-party services for checking results. Instead, they should adhere to the SMS process outlined by the board. This move aims to protect candidates' privacy and prevent the misuse of results.
Moreover, JAMB's latest updates follow the recent announcement that the results of 64,624 candidates from the 2024 UTME are being withheld for further investigation, out of the total 1,904,189 participants. This decision underscores the board's commitment to maintaining the integrity and fairness of the examination process.
Candidates experiencing difficulties in accessing their results are encouraged to follow the prescribed SMS method closely to ensure they can view their performance without unnecessary complications or delays.
