Hybrid-Cloud Computing Solutions Offered by Nigerian IT Expert

In Lagos, Akeredolu Isaac Rotimi, a noted cloud solution architect and member of the Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria, has addressed critical challenges in hybrid-cloud computing, offering new strategies to overcome prevalent network and data issues that impede computer literacy and technological progress in Nigeria.

During a press briefing, Rotimi highlighted the longstanding difficulties associated with adopting hybrid-cloud environments, which blend on-premises infrastructure with public cloud services. "Hybrid Cloud Computing isn't new, but its adoption has been fraught with various challenges," he explained. The hybrid model is primarily adopted to ease the transition towards complete cloud deployment, starting with transforming parts of an organization's data center into a private cloud, which is then connected to public clouds managed by external providers.

Rotimi pointed out that many Nigerian businesses are already benefiting from multi-cloud strategies to accelerate their digital transformation. These strategies involve using multiple cloud services from various providers to optimize computing resources and data storage. According to Rotimi, the key to managing these complex environments effectively lies in the integration of software-defined wide-area networking (SD-WAN).

SD-WAN technology is becoming the preferred solution for navigating multi-cloud computing. It enables organizations to build secure and high-performing networks by simplifying and scaling the network architecture. "SD-WAN provides application-aware routing across a hybrid network setup, enhancing direct internet connections alongside existing leased network links," said Rotimi. This setup allows organizations to select the best possible network paths for their specific cloud workloads, optimizing performance and reducing costs.

The adoption of SD-WAN and similar innovations represents a significant shift towards more agile and cost-effective computing environments. These technological advancements promise to resolve many of the persistent issues that have hampered the broader implementation of cloud computing solutions in Nigeria.
