During the 46th matriculation ceremony of Federal Polytechnic Nedeke, the acting Rector, Dr. Uzoma Ibeaja, issued a stern warning to all newly admitted students to avoid cultism and other social vices. The event, marking the commencement of the 2023/2024 academic session, took place at the institution's grounds in Owerri.
Dr. Ibeaja stressed the importance of understanding the primary reasons for their presence at the institution, which is to achieve academic and personal growth. He emphasized the polytechnic's commitment to maintaining high standards of decency, academic excellence, and exemplary behavior.
Highlighting the strict policies of Federal Poly Nedeke, Dr. Ibeaja addressed the students: "We have zero tolerance for cultism. Any involvement in such activities will lead to instant rustication and legal action. Similarly, indecent dressing and examination malpractice will attract severe penalties including expulsion."
The rector's message to the students was clear: maintain the integrity and standards that the institution stands for and report any inappropriate behaviors or advances towards cultism. Dr. Ibeaja also shared his vision for the institution, which includes the introduction of innovative and progressive teaching methods to further peace, development, and progress within the campus.
As the institution celebrates its 46th year of establishment, it continues to exceed the expectations set by its founders, evidenced by the achievements of its alumni and its contributions to the academic community
